About Our Team
It was 1997, and Russ Schildan was waiting for a large check to arrive in the mail. However, he wasn’t able to be in town at the scheduled delivery time. He needed a secure, locking mailbox.
His son Paul was off work at the time with a broken ankle and given the assignment of locating a reliable, locking mailbox. Wouldn’t you know it, he wasn’t able to find a good one that was up to the job. Sure, there were locking mailboxes available at the local hardware stores, but the quality and security just weren’t there.
An opportunity had presented itself, and thus the new family business, Mailbox Solutions was born in their garage!
They began designing and manufacturing secure, locking mailboxes able to withstand the weather and the prying eyes and hands of would-be intruders. They used locks that were drill-resistant and materials able to withstand vandals with baseball bats.
When it came time to retire in 2018, Danell and Jeff Burlingame, acquired Mailbox Solutions. They loved the company the moment they saw it and everything the Schildan’s had accomplished. Danell is hands-on with the daily operation of the company. Chances are you’ll be speaking with her when you call in! Russ’s son Paul is still working in manufacturing and installation today.

Since those early beginnings, we’ve worked closely with the United States Post Office to bring quality USPS approved mailboxes to the end user. We’ve even served on the advisory committee when the regulations for security mailboxes were drawn up.
We manufacture most of our single mailboxes, posts, and accessories right here in Sherwood, Oregon. All our products (except for our Euro Locks) are made right here in the USA. Come and visit us any time!
